Join us as we reminisce on the amazing work God has done through the Mangyan people in the Philippines!
“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
— Matthew 28:19-20.
It has been such an inspiration to see the growth of the Mangyan Church! The faith and work of our amazing Filipino brothers and sisters continues to show through all they do!
It’s so interesting to think back to 12 years ago. OMS NZ Director of that time, Owen Brown, visited Ps Rely and Lalaine Samonte to discuss how to start a church planting ministry in the Mangyan Village. A village where the people were squatters on the land with no electricity, toilets, or running water in their homes.
Today, they are a thriving community! Every home has running water and electricity and the church has been extended. Men and women have been doing ministry studies and are serving in their church, and the children are excelling at their studies and are graduating!
Their faith is huge and God is blessing them abundantly! To continue making disciples, they have recently opened new Bible study groups in their homes and continue their ministry outreaches. Praise God for His work! And thank you to all those supporting them prayerfully, financially and through child sponsorships.
